about US

We take God's Word into the darkest places, reaching those caught in the cycle of addiction, sexual exploitation, and generational sin.

Our mission is to make disciples of Christ, seeing those who were once outcasts transformed into witnesses.

We envision men, women, and children walking in freedom through the transformative healing power of Jesus Christ.

Laura Johnson-Suk

OUR FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Laura is the Founder and Executive Director of NorthEast of the Well. Her ministry career is marked by a burden for the gospel and a passion for reaching the marginalized. She uses her own story of addiction, recovery, and faith to identify with others struggling with generational patterns of brokenness and sin. She has spent the past 25 years in mission work, including local community development, global evangelism, disaster relief, motel ministry, combatting human trafficking and jail ministry. Laura founded NorthEast of the Well 15 years ago as a way for women coming out of a lifestyle of addiction and prostitution—many of whom have children—to find community and grow in their faith. The ministry started with a couple of people, a boombox, and a Bible in her living room. Above all else, Laura has a deep and undeniable calling to teach the Word of God. She stands firm on Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
