Children’s ministry

Position Summary: If you have a heart for children, and you are patient and loving, then you are needed here. Volunteers are to assist with childcare (ages infant to 12 years) at our community gatherings in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Newport Beach. This is an ideal place to give love and offer simple teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet parents and sign in children

  • Model the love of Jesus with kindness and example

  • Hold little babies; play with other children

  • Serve snacks to children

  • Prepare and/or deliver age-appropriate curriculum

  • Exhibit guidance with boundaries for kids

  • Also offer parental advice/guidance for parents of children

Special Events

Position Summary: Be a part of a committee that support our annual Gala or Fashion Show. Opportunities exist is in marketing, fundraising, event organization, menu selection, décor, check-in/out. Other events include Anti-Human Trafficking marches, home events, and baptisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate on a committee with others for overall event planning. Specific areas are listed below

  • Assist with developing and implementing event marketing. Integrate through social media, emails, texts, and invitations

  • Act as a fundraiser for silent and live auctions, and opportunity drawings

  • Assist with the design and installation of event décor

  • Select menu for the event

  • Check–in and check-out of event attendees

Administrative Assistance

Position Summary: Act as administrative support by assisting with administrative tasks and performing various organizational duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address envelopes

  • Make phone calls

  • Write thank-you cards

  • Organize physical office items

  • Compile “interest” packets

  • Support team with creative needs (i.e., floral arrangement)

  • Perform other organizational tasks

Drivers

Position Summary: Drivers are needed for pick-up and delivery of community members who need to transportation to our Gatherings, Bible studies, Baptisms, and other NorthEast events. Vans (12 passenger) and large passenger vehicles are provided by NorthEast for our volunteer drivers. Gatherings are hosted in Anaheim, Long Beach, and Newport Beach. Programs are throughout Orange County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Start by driving a van or passenger vehicle from NorthEast’s Costa Mesa office to the pick-up location(s) assigned. The driver will pick up an individual(s) from a home or program and drive them to a NorthEast Gathering, Program, Baptism, or other event.

  • At the conclusion of the event, the driver will drop off the individual(s)

  • After delivering the community member(s) back to their residence or program, the driver will return the vehicle to the Costa Mesa office.

  • The volunteer driver will drive once weekly or volunteer on a flex schedule.

  • The driver is to enjoy conversing with the passengers to make them feel completely comfortable and welcome.

  • The driver is to maintain a valid drivers license.

Skilled Professionals

Position Summary: You are needed if you have expertise in technology, finance, grant writing, AI, counseling, teaching, photography, mentoring mothers, coaching, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share your professional skills by mentoring those interested and needing professional guidance by spending one-on-one time teaching and demonstrating skills

  • Train professional skills that ensure measurable outcomes

  • Train, mentor, and coach individuals to not only build skills, but to bolster confidence, and long-term self-sufficiency

Meal Support:

Position Summary: Join a team to provide meals to our community at gatherings in Long Beach, Anaheim, or Newport Beach. Dinner preparation and servers are needed either weekly or monthly. This is an opportunity to interface directly with those we serve. Meals and servers are needed for quarterly baptisms and other events, as well. Another opportunity within this category is to provide full meals or side dishes. Prepare onsite or in advance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help in the kitchen with meal preparation

  • Contribute a meal, side dish, dessert, or ingredients toward a meal for a Gathering or Baptism

  • Serve meal

  • Provide clean up

  • Oversee meal process and manage kitchen staff, servers, and clean-up crew
